Distraught

I can't believe I am getting a zero for my midterm when the class syllabus says at the instructors discretion and we were not alerted to the fact that if we were late we would fail. So now all this extra work threatens my other classes work. Does anyone care? Probably not. This week I have been working on my poster and retouching my level design and working on other parts of it. Also my flow charts for the main menu and game itself are underway. I went to school on a thursday for some extra credit and due to lack of internet will probably be at school this weekend too. As a student I feel mistreated and abused in a way because I cannot control everything at all times I just can't. When I ask for credit on a project I worked about 15hrs on I don't get it. Now I have to commit to coming to school 5 days a week like I dont have a life outside the walls of this building. Maybe one day if I don't go insane this will all be worth it. One thing for sure is that noone cares about our problems as much as they care about their paychecks. When I am in a position of power one day I will make a concious effort to listen to my people because a little compassion goes a long way. Getting told to not worry so heavily about my GPA is simply outrageous... back to work I go now.

Level with gadgets...

Here is the level
with the meters in place I like the opposite corner thing and the buildings are left semi plane to be less
distracting on the eyes so you can clearly focus on what you are doing. There is room for adjustments of course but still this is merely a conceptualization of my finished product.

From then until now.

I already knew exactly what kind of game I wanted to make before I even had this class because I had learned from previous students what is expected of us in Game Design 1. So most of the work I have been doing is shaping my ideas rather than coming up with them. The challenging part was the view of how I wanted to make my game. This was the hardest part period because I had to scrap every visual in my head because this game maker isn't exactly top notch programming. I know that I have to crawl before I walk and am rolling with the punches. Throughout some sketching of levels I figured out how I want it to look but am still toying with my exact visual style. I am feeling the simple color aspects of the enviroments and for sounds I might even record a couple of my own. I have been working on my presentation all morning because I do not ever wanted to be considered disappointing ever ever again. I can understand your point and all though. So far the story is just about all together there except a few minute details that I plan on banging out soon enough. I have come up with a time clock and a "poop-o-meter" that I am extremely happy with. I like the look of my people and cars but I still would like to adjust the look of my birds. I may do them from scratch like I my whole level design straight from a doodle I was toying with. This weekend I plan on working on my proposal I am actually nearly finished with all the technical aspects of writing it and just now need to add images and such. I also need to scan my sketches to add to the proposal but will have something I am proud to present to you and my fellow classmates. More updates as I get them..
